(reported by ARPA Australia)
The push for euthanasia may be relentless, but an encouraging story from the USA this week shows its legalisation is never inevitable. Yesterday the Washington Post reported that attempts have been made to introduce euthanasia in 27 US states this year, with the attempts failing in every state. The laws were either struck down in the committee stage or failed because they only passed in one of the two legislative chambers. While assisted-suicide still remains legal in the six US states that approved it before 2017, it’s comforting to know that the practice did not expand n that country despite numerous attempts this year.
