This is Democracy: MP under fire for his convictions

Australia boasts to be a democracy, a civilized country, a free country with freedom of expression and religion. However, with the Yes vote prevailing in the Same Sex Marriage Survey, this is all going to change. The first example of this we can witness in the way the liberal MP Andrew Hastie has been treated. The Australian reports that the MP who is a Christian, received many foul-mouthed phone calls and a deluge of abusive emails, tweets and Facebook messages. Even a reporter of the Mandurah Coastal Times, Rachel Fenner, chimed in using her maiden name of Steward, using highly inappropriate language.

This does not bode well for the future of democracy in Australia. If people have to resort to bullying to get their way, then this is the beginning of the end of civilization. More and more, Russia begins to look like a more civilized country than our dear Australia.

How true is still what Paul writes in Romans 1:18-32, when he uses the homosexual lifestyle as an ultimate example and symptom of a life without God. We see more and more the tolerance, patience and civilized debate flying out of the window when same sex marriage, homosexual lifestyle and all kinds of gender issues get involved.

Another example is what happened at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, about which I wrote in another article.
