ACT: magistrate dismisses case against two men charged for praying outside abortion clinic.

A Canberra magistrate has dismissed charges against two men aged in their 70’s who were charged with engaging in prohibitive behaviour for silently praying outside an abortion clinic. ABC News reports the magistrate dismissed the charges on the basis that the men’s prayer “involved no component of expression, communication or message to those around them.” The ACT banned protests outside abortion clinics in 2016.
